I might love my neighbours and broccoli but I hate squishy seed potatoes

You know how seed potatoes go squishy and brown by the time you harvest your new potatoes?
Is it just me or is putting your hand into that BALL OF VILENESS, the vegetable equivalent of Satan’s diseased gonad, enough to put you off growing potatoes for life?
…
Just me?

No, not just you!
Erm… don’t put your hand in it? ;)
I agree, it quite shocked the OH when he dug his first potatoes up the other week!
Rachel & Alison: glad to know I’m not the only one! my commiserations on you experiencing the potato goo issue too!
Mo: I don’t seek them out! There I am, innocently plucking my pale white egg-like ‘tatoes from the soil, then BAM! hand in a vile ick sack. I’m not easily icked out but iccccccck!
I agree! dug up my first home grown spuds last week and had an euwww reaction to the mushy seed potato. It was only on the spade though, not my hand!
I’m so with you, and i agree with Mo iccccccccccc!
Hehe, I hate it too but I wear gloves so it doesn’t bother me so much!
I dug up my first potatoes yesterday… I put my hand in that ….. three times… :-(
But I’ll still grow potatoes next year…
